Posted By NLR Can anyone of learned colleagues please help me, I have just been informed that the SMSTS cetrificates that some of my managers have sat previously 3+years are now regarded as useless and will not be covered as it used to be by a two day update. Apparently the format has been changed quite considerably. this is the first that I ahve heard of this. Regards Nigel

Posted By Stuey Sorry for late response but had this cleared up by CITB SMSTS Dept.If your people have 5 day certificates without an expiry date on them (prior to 2001), they can attend a 2 day refresher course and requalify for 5 years. They do not have to take the 5 day course unless their company feels that it would benefit. This policy is liable to change this year so hurry if you wish to get people up to date. Hope this helps.

Posted By Keith Ralph Having taken the SMSTS course in June 2005, I find the certificate expiry date is June 2010, and information indicating that a 2 day refresher will be required. I hope this helps KJR
