COSHH applies here; you need to get the material safety data sheet from the manufacturer/supplier and do an assessment. Disposal and handling will depend on all sorts of factors, such as the form of the poison, its toxicity, its biodegradability and so on,

thanks but thats not much use at the moment.

the situation is....

i have a operative on site right now, of which has removed a kitchen unit to find rat poison in a box, (unmarked). no data sheet, no manufacturer label..

so assuming it is the worst rat posion available to man, how do i get rid?

regards

bj

Oh I see, well, assume it is something like arsenic or warfarin and get hold of MSDS's for them. Or ring your local council's environmental people for disposal advice,

You need to call in an Approved Pesticides company/person. These materials whilst subject to COSHH are also subject to the Control of Pesticides Regs, thus there is a need for competent persons to handle them! Rentokil et al or LA are best bets

Or call Environment Agency - if it truly is a waste.

Pesticides are Hazardous Wastes; many LA's will dispose of small quantities.

Just a thought-Bound to be some quite but 'occupied' location which needs servicing.
As you dont know which chemical you have-You would be obliged to work to 'highest' control standards associated with the 'most' toxic rodent control chemical.
