Hi there
Please can someone confirm if there is an official reg or guidline for req'd space between desks or more importantly the distance between the back of one chair and another in an office environment. As a newly appointed Health and Safety rep for my Dept it has been brought to my attention that several members of the office down a particular aisle are complaining that they are being constantly knocked by people from the next row of desks. This particular aisle is slightly narrower than the rest but I would like to check for any regs. If there is a reg can someone please give me a link to it ?
Thanks in advance.

Workplace Regs – Regulation 10 ACOP para 77
“The total volume of the room, when empty, divided by the number of people normally working in it should be at least 11 cu metres. In making this calculation a room or part of a room which is more than 3.0 metres high should be counted as 3 metres high. The figure off 11 cu meters per person is a minimum and may be insufficient if, for example, much of the room is taken up by furniture etc.”
