Scenario- during insurance reinstatement works, AIB discovered within external wall construction of a domestic dwelling. AIB in good condition, however, potential requirement to fix new inner linings to board.
Obviously the contractor doing the work will have to comply with and be governed by the asbestos legislation, however, what is the insurance companies poition relative to the insured party? Good practice and ethics suggest strip out to prevent any future exposure, however, Insurers keen to limit their exposure.
Any thoughts

The work will have to be done by a Licenced Contractor as it is AIB and will take more than 1 hour etc.
I feel that if you will the occupant that it is AIB and that it will be left insitu they may become a 'concerned' as well as the refit exposing the contractors to Asbestos Dust
