Hi,
We have museum research and resource centre with very high storage shelves (4-5 metre). Currently mobile steps are used to retrieve artifacts but they are difficult to trundle between gangways and awkward for shelves half way up. The museum service is thinking of purchasing an order picker or similar with a platform to raise the curator to the appropriate shelf. Is there anyone out there in a museum or warehouse who has used an order picker and can offer advice. I think I know all the main problems but I may have missed something.
many thanks

Stephen,
get in touch with Beemish, they use a scissor lift...they are also very open to proffessional visitors behind the scenes...and they have come up with a range of solutions for all manner of irregular ephmera, so you be able to how it all flows together in practice
