Posted By Stephen D. Clarke Over the last 2 days I've found the IOSH website exceedingly slow, what used to take 1 or 2 seconds to open now takes minutes - is it me?

Posted By Malcolm Fryer Stephen I think that is is your PC or connection as all works swiftly for me on the IOSH site. Try running some spyware software? Malcolm

Posted By Keith E I have noticed this problem too - so think the problem is at the IOSH hosting end of the web connection

Posted By Robert K Lewis Stephen No its not. I have had prolonged discussions with IOSH today and my IT bods. If you ping it it times out - but not for everybody so somewhere some of us have something in common within the hiway to Heathrow where the IOSH server sits. I am routed through London and cannot get to it easily yet I am informed that IOSH have had it tested from there and it works. My colleague located in London has also found it devastatingly slow. It might be an interference between providers or the servers perceive something we share as a threat of some sort and are slow in processing the information hence the delay. Bob

Posted By Robert K Lewis Tony It only works for the lucky some but not all! It could be a failing node or route somewhere but cannot see a link for Shropshire - Heathrow, Leeds - London - Heathrow and London - Heathrow, except Heathrow! I am beginning to suspect that some of us share an ISP unknowingly. Bob

Posted By Brian McMahon I believe that the only persons affected are those earning less than £20k p.a, with a NGC and less than five years experience. ;-) Brian

Posted By Martin R. Bessant Stephen, I am not aware of any problems with the IOSH website and loading speed. I have BT Broadband and it opens up very rapidly unless the ISP is overloaded which can happen at certain times ( often just after the children get home from school). I would suspect that it might be your machine needs defragmenting or virus checking or that your ISP is overloaded. If you continue to have problems, please contact Neal Clarke at IOSH and ask him to investigate. Hope it resolves itself. Regards, Martin Bessant - Lead Moderator.

Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney Martin With respect; I have had difficulty today from 3 terminals at 3 different locations, all different servers as well. I was conducting a training exercise this afternoon and wanted to show the students the site, alas, it was taking ages to load! I am at home now, and it still took a long time; systems were defragged, disk cleanup completed and temp files binned. A bit odd as I never normally get this problem. CFT

Posted By Robert K Lewis Martin Please note the other postings - There are a number of people having problems, some having tried a number of locations. In my case Manchester, Leeds, B'ham and London all to no avail - each with separate servers. It is not our computers but is somewhere at Heathrow unless we can find a common faulty line for all those affected or a common ISP Bob

Posted By Robert K Lewis Out of interest has this problem been resolved? I am on my home line Onetel link and it is a breeze but then again it is a 2Mb connection and is not the same ISP as my company. Bob

Posted By Helen Horton I gave up on Thursday and again yesterday (yes I know it was Sunday!) because the whole thing kept coming to a standstill and prompting messages from my firewall. It's all right today though!!
