Posted By S.Alder Hello all ,this is not a friday wind up. We are in the process of repainting all of our operators cabins and the contractors have also repainted the ceiling tiles. Does anyone out there know if this will negate the fire rating or if it is illeagal to paint fire rated tiles, any pointers to relevant legislation would also be helpful. Thanks

Posted By Ron Impey It's is probably best to contact the manufacturer of the ceiling tiles so you get specific advice for the situation.

Posted By Alan Hoskins Would have thought painting with emulsion would be OK but not with gloss/oil based paint due to possible spread of flame. I recall some reports of serious incidents many years ago when people were painting polystyrene ceiling tiles with gloss paint. Alan
