I'm reviewing our H&S management model and was hoping that colleagues might provide comments on alternative models/structures.
We are a local authority employing around 5000 people across multiple sites and divided into 5 directorates. In brief, our H&S management model consists of a corporate centre responsible for policy, strategy, corporate statistical analysis, etc. supported by operational H&S Advisors (responsible for specific directorates) who implement policy, provide advice, support managers, etc.
I'm aware that this model has advantages and disadvantages for both the H&S staff and the organisation. It may turn out that our current model is the best fit for our organisation, but I would appreciate any comments on other models used by colleagues and their respective pros and cons.
