Posted By Steven I have to tell this scenario I saw the other day and hope it gives you a little smile or it may get up your nose but it did make me chuckle. I was sitting on the side of the river fishing away waiting for that float to disappear down the river and have my rod bend to the point of breaking, when in the corner of my eye I saw a car pull up along side some curbing work that was being done on the road opposite (take into account this was a weekend and there where no workmen there or equipment, just plenty of railings and cones). Out popped two suited gentlemen and they proceeded to put on high-vis waist-coats, nobody else would have thought any more. But when they proceeded to put on safety hard hats and safety glasses I thought to myself “that’s a bit over the top”, but they have probable got procedures to adhere too. What happened next, you couldn’t make it up if you tried. They both went along the work and looked liked they were inspecting the craftsmanship of the curb laying when a flock of ducks on the river decided to go for a fly. The ducks took off and headed across the river over the road, BANG an artic goes by, duck gets thrown across the road and smacks one of the guys on the head knocking his hat off and sending him to the floor!!!!! He did get up pretty quickly to look round to see what the hell hit him or to see if anyone saw him. I had to laugh, but then thought to myself whoever put in the procedure probable saved this block being knocked out by a flying duck!!!!!
