Hand Arm Vibration - Occupational Health (required or not)

Im looking for a bit of advice on the above subject.
All of my users are trained in the use of the equipemnt, they are under the exposure limits.
Do I need to provide occupational health testing.
Also ive sent out medical questionaires - If I get a positive reply back that they have symptoms, I would then send them for health testing.
Thanks in advance

Hi Paul
Unless your workers are exposed to vibration levels in excess of the Action Level of 2.5m2 health surveillance isn't really necessary if you have provided training & awareness to the workers.
For the majority of time our workers are below this action level but on occassions are exposed to levels approaching the Limit Value of 5ms2.
For the workers involved in these tasks we issue a questionnaire which are then passed to our Occ Health provider. One thing I would do is issue pre-employment medical questionnaires to prospective employees using vibrating tools to identify problems such as Cold/blue fingers, Numbness of finger tips, Tingling in Fingers, Reynauds Disease etc.
Hope this helps, Gary
