Not for me!
Many people post from may different countries as long as you get the gist of it just give and answer and move on. Moreover slaggin folk off will only put off others from posting and getting valuable information, which is the point of this forum. Nobody has ever asked for an English lesson so why give one to them
That's my Friday rant done, of course you can all make your own comments

I would say not, for as you point out there are different nationalities posting here, would hate to to do the same on a French forum, would make just as big if not bigger a hash of it.
Dyslexia, learning difficulties all have an impact and unless someone bravely says 'I am dyslexic' (am thinking of a certain poster who did just this) how are we to know??
When do people post, if it is the lunch hour when time is at a premium, the odd letter misplaced doesn't matter too much when others reading the post can understand what is being said.
Also there have been posts from persons here who are not safety trained/qualified but have been lumped with a task or job. They come here for advice from 'professionals' and instead they get attacked for thier spelling and grammer or jokes at thier expense BUT not the help (or even a pointer) on what they are asking for.
To my mind not at all professional and it perptuates outsiders views that safety professionals are arrogant 'Nazis with clipboards' (a Clarksonism if permitted).
I personally would like to see a stronger line taken with these 'grammer attacks', they do nothing usefull but can do harm to our profession and image in others eyes.
Given that this is a Safety Forum, not an English forum I don't think we should be quite so precious about spelling, especially when we may know little or nothing about the posters command or ability with the English language.

Except, perhaps, we can forgive them when they are having a gentle go at someone who has critised a previous poster's English? Though after several have made the same point it wears a little thin.

Bret,
Well done as you said this is a safety site not an English grammar site.
Bet there are people out there who wouldn’t give a monkeys about how the replies to there queries are answered especially on the study forum (good sound advice) versus heads up a planet
Linda,
Cant answer on the thread that you mentioned about your education but Nowt wrong with being educated in west Yorkshire – gods own county- my education was at Wakey many moons ago left 19** but a famous pop group came from the same school

I can spell but I can't tpye, and to be honest this forum is about communication, which doesn't need punctilious punctuation or grade A grammar,
John
PS A spell check would be good though because I have to admit to a slight sinking feeling when I review my posts and see just how many tpyos there are! And I never spot them all until the thing has been posted!

This topic was previously raised on a members forum and raised some funny comments. On a more serios note you can download ieSpell onto your Internet browser tool bar and this allows you to spell check anything you type on-line. Very useful for on-line applications. Link below.

Hi All,
You could always compose in Word or a similar program, then copy & paste into the forums!
I hope that those asking questions can see through the ‘unnecessary’ replies and concentrate on those relevant to their original request.
If we all ignore the ‘unnecessary’ replies maybe the posters will learn that their comments are not needed nor appreciated.
