Good evening

I'm looking for some advice/feedback on the various courses that are available for training trainers, in particular the CIEH Professional Trainers Certificate and the Level 3 NVQ in training &/or Development, and how these compare to the City & Guilds 7331. Are there any other course you would recommend?

many thanks, Gary

Hello, I gained the CIEH Professional Trainer certificate mid last year. I found it well worth while, the content was good and it was well paced (suppose it depends on the quality of tutor !) It was challenging but not too challenging, and it was not one of these courses that you just turn up, listen and get a certificate !
Go for it,

Regards

I've just done the City and Guilds 7302 - Certificate of Learning Delivery - An Introduction. This was a twelve week course, one day per week at the local college and I found it very good. I've been involved in H&S training for 25 years and still found out things I didn't know and learnt new training skills.

Afternoon Gary,
I completed the CIEH Professional Trainers Cert in December last year. I found it to be a really good course, mainly because the lecturer was excellent and it was free! It was available through Enworks in Manchester.
Best of luck,

I have 7307-1; don't know if this is a current designation. I feel that it's worth putting the time in for a deeper course than the CIEH one (7307-1 was five whole days equivalent; 7307-2 is much more) as you may 'just' need to present at the moment, but the stuff on course planning and lesson planning that you get with longer courses is very valuable,

Evening.

Thanks for the responses. I was beginning to think it would disappear without a comment.

My first thought was to complete the CIEH course; I fancied diversifying into food safety & this course is needed to deliver the CIEH's courses. However since my original posting I have discovered that the local college is running the 7302-1 course in the evenings, which is extremely useful because I don't have to arrange time off work to attend!

The 7302 evening course is also reasonably priced compared to some CIEH providers.

Again, thanks for the responses

Gary
