Hi folks i am currently pulling out what little hair I have left trying to find a user freindly guide to regulations around the disposal of clinical waste. Anyone got a good link please? my barnet needs you.

There are no specific regulations as such; this is covered by the EPA 1990 and the Hazardous Waste Regs. A good place to start is with the Duty of Care Code of Practice which is available from http://www.defra.gov.uk/.../waste_man_duty_code.pdf

There is also a publication from the Health Services Advisory Committee called 'The Safe Disposal of Clinical Waste' but I'm not aware that it's available on the net. It's fairly cheap and can be bought online from TSO,

The guidance on waste from the healthcare sector is currently under review (previous guidance was withdrawn)and liable to change from the draft document. The final guidance is due to be published any day now so keep your eyes open.
