Posted By Derek Holt A sturdy soled boot, preferably lace up ankle type (eyelets)as opposed to rigger boots. Should have a heel to assist in placement of foot on rungs. Boots with a metal shank under the arch are best as help to prevent the pressure on foot arch caused by the rungs, especially for long ascents/descents. Toe protector type if undertaking construction activities.
