Posted By Peter Fitzpatrick Hi All, I am currently attempting to write up our procedure on HAVS following the implementaion of the new regs. As part of the regs is health surveillance, (as you probably all know!). Can anyone help me in defining the role played by the occ health nurse and the company doctor and how best to define and distinguish the two roles?

Posted By Alan Hoskins Peter, We've just completed our proposed procedure and in that, the OH Nurse undertakes the health surveillance, but where as a result of the health surveillance, an employee is found to have identifiable symptoms of vibration-induced harm, the OH Nurse refers the employee to the OH Medical Advisor and if it is then considered that the symptoms are likely to be the result of exposure to vibration, appropriate action will be taken. Hope that helps a bit... Alan
