Ageism: Are you getting ready for October 2006

Have recently attended Ageism seminar, the ball is starting to roll and gathering speed.
It is being "preached" that all and any wording that can be construed as relating to age be removed/discontinued to prevent future ageism claims through tribunals. No birthday cards, cannot use words like senior, experience, etc, etc.
I can understand the principle and spirit and understand that some of the early OTT stuff may hopefully fall by the way side.
The point of this thread is quite serious as within our profession and related legislation and guidance there are many direct wording references to "Young Persons at Work" and associated wording such as /young/experienced/maturity/etc.
Further to that 2006 has been claassed as the "Year of the Young Person" and there are ongoing campaigns to support this, including HS week week in October.
With the advent of Ageism laws in the same month will it all come to abrupt halt, as it would be in contradiction of the Ageism laws and would not be tolerated due to risk of claim.
Joking apart there are valid points to be clarified and are IOSH and the HSE addressing this or am I missing something along the way/in my intepretation.

It could be a lot worse.
The male/female could not only be old/young, but also coloured, gay and disabled.
In which case this site would rapidly go into overdrive.
God forbid that as well as all of the above they fall over and injure themselves while undertaking a risky job working on a ladder on top of a pallet on a forklift truck, while not wearing ppe and fall restraints.
