Good afternoon
I have been asked to carry out a workplace inspection of a health centre and was going to base it around the requirements of the Workplace regs. Should I be taking into account other requirements specifically I am thinking about NHS requirements, does anyone know of any such requirements? Any advice or suggestions gratefully accepted.

When you say "workplace inspection", just what will you be looking at? Are you concerned only with the premises or will you be assessing what is done in them? If it is the latter, then there is a whole raft of considerations, such as COSHH, infection control, security (for drugs etc.) that will need to be considered.
If you can be more specific, then if I can help I will happily respond.

Thanks Chris
I have a workplace inspection aide that covers COSHH and the other "normal" items I would expect to find in a workplace. I have been reading through a few documents on GP surgeries and Healthcare Managers guides wanting to identify the additional requirements specific to Health Centres. I have picked up on Clinical wastes drug security and I understand that they should have in place procedures for infection control. My remit is to carry out some DSE and Treatment room assessments, DSE not a problem just needed to understand some of the issues with treatment rooms. If you have any info you think would be useful I would be grateful

If your RA includes any aspects of fire you should refer to NHS Firecode, especially the drafts of HTM 05-01 and 05-02 as these explicitly refer to Health Centres. Not just liquid nitrogen but a range of medical gases might be involved. Site security esppecially regarding controlled drugs,
John
