Posted By Marcus Corcoran Can anyone give me any info on waste management procedures for disposing of general purpose alkaline batteries ? I thought they could be collected / stored in " battery banks " and then disposed of in bulk but the Duracell website link here: http://www.duracell.com/care_disposal/disposal.asp suggests that this is not a good idea ? Any thoughts / ideas ? Regards,

Posted By Tony Bish Although alkaline batteries can be recycled, find an assured outlet before you stockpile them, otherwise you will have a crate full of hazardous waste to dispose of.

Posted By Marcus Corcoran Tony I have sent a reply to your email. I would like info on the storage side rather than the actual disposal. The Duracell website advises against storage of large qty's of "dead" battery for risk of them becoming live.
