Posted By Mr T On a recent audit of an external supplier i found no consideration was taken in regard to the cleansines of the equipment. If we carry out an inspection on one of our road going chassis (Tank is lifted off into storage)our internal workshop washes off the chassis prior to entering the workshop so any spilt product that may be around the discharge area of the tank platform does not drip down and cover an unsuspecting engineer. (we wash all equipment as the product even labled non haz for road transport may still have affects on personell. The other issue that was identified was that if the equipment presented had a fixed tank attached and presented with a cleaning certificate there was no consideration as to the quolity of that certificate or the detail of what was actually cleaned i.e Hose's, Pumps,. Again our internal workshop only accepts the European Cleaning Document (ECD) That has clear indication of what work has actually been done. Has any body else got systems in their workshps that identify these risks.

Posted By Bob Youel Have used ECD system - but rely on the good old risk assessment Where equipment comes in that is/ could be hazardous re substances and it could easily [noting; reasonably practicable etc] have been cleaned prior to sending it in for repair etc we send it back!
