Can someone advise if there is a website other than the HSE, which can give me details of HSE prosecutions?

I am looking for a particular case and have searched the internet. Only the HSE comes up and the details are too brief. The particular case was mentioned in SHP and is not in the archives 'In Court' section.

So if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it

Rochelle,

Is this the case you are looking for?

found via advance search on HSE proscutions database.

Firm fined in door horror

KILLED: Patrick Morris.A PROPERTY campany has been fined £50,000 after an 11-year-old boy was crushed to death by a car park's roller door.

Patrick Morris was killed as he rode on metal shutters when the electric gates rolled up to let a driver out of an Old Trafford car park.

Neighbours and drivers had reported concerns to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency car park security staff about youngsters playing on the shutters.

But it is believed they were not passed on to Manchester-based Bruntwood Estates Ltd, which owns the car park.

Safety inspectors also discovered the firm had failed to act on new safety regulations.

At Minshull Street Crown Court, Bruntwood Estates pleaded guilty to health and safety offences and was fined £50,000.

Patrick's mother Kathleen McClacklen, 40, a social services worker, said: "Those shutters are death traps. They had been warned about them and did nothing and my son lost his life because of that."

Tragedy

The tragedy occurred in November 2001. Health and Safety inspectors issued improvement and prohibition notices and the gates were changed within three months.

In 2002 a coroner recorded a verdict of death by misadventure.

A spokesman for Bruntwood Estates said: "As indicated by the judge we had the right to rely on our supplier to provide an appropriate system.

"We have subsequently worked with the Health and Safety Executive in designing a door and sensory system, which will prevent any similar incidents occurring again.

"In 25 years in business we have built a good safety record. This awful accident has and will continue to play heavily on our minds"

Thanks for that but I am so sorry it's not that one. I did try and be unusually tactful but I think I will have to name the company.

It is to do with Biffa Waste at their quarry landfill site at Houghton-Le-Spring in October 2001. An 11 year boy was playing on a limestone cliff when he slipped and fell vertically 18 metres and fatally injuring himself when he landed on concrete floor.

I will try and see if I can get more info re the advanced search on HSE but it didn't show anything when I looked earlier.

Thanks again
