This link, supplied by srd on the "safety practitioner benchmarking" thread makes fascinating reading. I decided to re-post it under a different title as the referred document gives such an interesting image of our business. And it is definitely worth the half hour it takes to read it.

Maybe all you lot out there already know it by heart.
Thanks Stephen
And it says a few nice things about consultants too

I see that there is no mention of your poor relatives in construction then.
Andy

Andy,
not really bored, just passing the time. (not "wasting", there's been some good stuff on the chat show this morning)
I've got a power point to polish which I reallyreally don't want to do. So I'm putting it off. Client wants lots of "legal and civil liabilities" in it "put the fear of god (the law) into the managers")
I'd much rather have them do H&S because they like to. Not because they are scared of going to jail if they dont.
I've shown them the first draft "OK but stronger on the legal stuff, please"
Ho hum.
Discuss. Please
Merv

Had a brief read on that Merv.
Have saved the document for later look at,
Have to say I loved this line myself
but the law
“does not require of a professional man that he be a paragon, combining the qualities of a polymath and a prophet.”
Being one usually not so brilliant with the words, I had to look up some of it and chuckled loud when I did.
