Posted By Ian Mitchell Hi Stanley. This is a very broad question! I am on my lunch break so won't cover everything. Firstly, your audit should be an independent one - don't audit your own safety work as this will be subjective! It should be systematic (in other words decide what aspect of site safety you are auditing and follow a set plan). It should cover all aspects relating to the subject being audited, and any issues highlighted should be given a set period to be corrected and a review carried out. As for what to audit, where to begin!! Documentation such as site inductions, competence records, plant inspection, method statements, risk assessments, the H+S plan etc etc should all be considered. Plus knowledge of safety matters among the workforce, physical provision of safety infrastructure such as PPE, signage, fall arrest etc etc Hope this is a pointer, over to everybody else to expand (tea's going cold!!)
