I came across some training skills cards today issued by a Northern Ireland training company. I later found out that these cards were not worth the`paper they are printed on.
Without names mentioned...the cards issued to the civils company were for all plant / machinery on site.
When I contacted FAS and the HSA I was informed that as the cards were not CSCS, CPCS or CSR, they were NOT a vailid card.
The civils company in question spent a lot of money in good faith but now need to re-do all of their training courses at great expense.
Caution to all contractors / safety officers etc on sites to be aware of this issue.

I would just be careful - the HSA and FAS do not cover Northern Ireland they are the health and safety enforcement body and training body respectively for Southern Ireland, and hence have different legislation etc. Better to check with HSE(NI) Tel: 028 9024 3249.
Just to be 100% sure.

Sorry, maybe I did not clarify the situation.
I work in southern Ireland on sites and as I was checking the required cards from employees I came across the above-mentioned cards and after I checked them out I found the to be of NO use what-so-ever.
The cards are ok in the north and in the UK but not in the south.
There was not even a contact phone number on the card or an address.
