Posted By warderic Caution. I had an e-mail today from a gentlmen in Africa. He said he had got my addreess from this web site. He wanted me to help him recover his fathers money, 10 million pounds, in return I would receive 2 million pounds. Being happy with what I have, I turned the offer down. Dont get caught out.

Posted By Neal Clark Hi warderic, Thanks for spotting this, I actually posted an alert on this matter yesterday, but it has already moved quite far down the forum index page. For your information, and any one else who may have missed it, I have re-posted the original message below. Hope it helps. ***************************************************************************************************** We've heard that some users of the IOSH discussion forum have recently been sent spam email claiming to be from a Mr Koffi Akimbo. This is likely to be the result of an automated programme called a crawler or bot, which harvests any email addresses from websites and discussion forums such as ours. The choice to hide your email address is already yours. Anyone wishing to hide their registered email address can do so by first logging in, and then selecting ‘update my details’ from the section links panel on the right of your screen. At the foot of the next screen you'll see an option that reads: ‘Make my email address viewable to others’. Make sure that ‘no’ is selected, and then click ‘update my information.’ We've asked our developer to make some further changes to keep the crawlers away: 1. Your emails will only be visible once you've logged in. 2. The forum registration process will be upgraded. For those users who wish to keep their email address visible, our current terms of use www.iosh.co.uk/termsofuse recommend that you set up an email account specifically for internet use. Many thanks, Neal Clark, Web Co-ordinator
