Hi Just something to bear in mind when going for OHSAS 18001,
as a H&S Consultant and a ISO9001, 14001, 18001 Lead Assessor for a couple of certification bodies I am aware of proposed draft changes which are being discussed at the moment to OHSAS 18001. I have seen the drafts and basically helps 18001 integrate better with 9001, and 14001 in fact the changes they made to ISO14001:2004 have been replicated across to the 18001 proposed revision. I could not tell you when this going to happen, but it may be worth bearing in mind when putting you 18001 system in place that it may need some slight revision to meet the requirements to the new proposed revision. I have got a gap analysis 18001:1999 template I can forward on if needed if you post a request to twassociates@hotmail.com

The best source of advice I have come across is at www.web-safety.com. Have a look OSHAS, ILO-OSH etc. etc. it doesnt matter, the system fits all.
Good Luck
