Posted By paul harman Please i need help. I work for a roofing and construction company that tender for local authority works. I have received a pre-tender questionnaire that asks the question 'Enclose a copy of the record of the significant findings of your organisations risk assessmen'. I am struggling to find an answer that satisfies my boss. I have submitted an overview of our companies main risk with the appropriate control measures but have been told that this answer is not adequate. Can anybody point me in the right direction please. The tender must leave by three today. Paul

Posted By garyh By three today!!! No chance! Gros simplification:- advise yout to summarise risks (rank them by a numerical risk rating system eg consequence x severity as a number) then list (on a spreadsheet) Hazard Persons at risk Control measures Risk rating (if you are clever before and after looking at Control measures) Actions required to get within approved risk rating if required I use this type of format and have used it on a COMAH higher tier site e-mail me for a proforma

Posted By Ron Hunter If I read your post correctly, you're being asked to provide the bit of the risk assessment where you consider & record whether you're doing enough to control the risks, or you should be doing more - an essential part of the risk assessment process. Where you do identify that more needs to be done, you'll need to discuss actions, priorities, timescales and identify those persons actioned to make sure the improvements are implemented. Where you're happy that your risk assessment shows that your organisation is already doing all that is reasonably practicable (i.e. you're following HSE or industry best practice/guidance, then they probably want to see that recorded. Remember to add a review date on the Form. Risk Assessment is more than recording what you do. It's also about scrutiny & challenging the way you do things.
