Posted By Les Welling I cannot seem to find out whether or not the following countries have H&S Legislation and how they compere with |UKs. I have even tried the Ebassies, to no avail - They do not seem to know! Any help will be gratefully accepted. These are the countries: Belize, Nepal,Italy, Cyprus, Portugal and the USA. I should think there will be no trouble with the Euopean countries, but the others?

Posted By Philip McAleenan Les, several of these countries are included on the Hot-sites section of our web-site. Several of the links are directly to the source of OSH legislation, http://www.web-safety.com/Exchange/HSlist.htm Philip

Posted By garyh USA has OSHA regs and they are a bit like our regs, but seem to be more prescriptive and seem to concentrate on hazards rather than being risk based in my view.

Posted By Jay Joshi Thye first two links are from the ILO Safework LEGOSH database--it is a bibliographic database, but provides a list of OHS legislation in the countries listed. You need to be careful as this is not being updated very frequently. http://www.ilo.org/publi.../cis/products/legosh.htm http://www.ilo.org/publi...ork/cis/legosh/index.htm Another portal is the CIS centres portal- webaddress below. Unfortunately, it is excellent in concept, but has been extremely slow in implementation The best bet is either to contact the IOSH International Affairs Specialist group--or the CIS centre of the country. http://www.ciscentres.org/
