Posted By Robert. Being unfamiliar with the general terms. Could anybody advise whether a manual trailer winch could be retro-fitted safely to become a hoist when attached to a tri-pod. My feeling is that a trailer winch is designed to "drag" and not for a direct lift. Any feedback would be appreciated. Robert.

Posted By Andy Walker He He Robert Sorry to come out with the old chestnut but have a word with the Manufacturer/Supplier. I may be wrong but I believe certain winch configurations can be used to lift but it depends on SWL's, type of load, how the winch is mounted etc.etc. Andy W
