Hurrah, our lovely techie folk just happened to mentioned that they've installed a satellite dish on the roof. Not a huge problem? Well this one is 8' across and transmits. Does anyone have any safe systems of work / guidelines / anything on EMF transmitters they'd be nice enough to send my way? I can't seem to find anything useful out there, apart from "monitor exposure".
If it helps, it'll only be transmitting at certain times, so we could just restrict access, but i'd rather have something a bit more formal in place other than 'lock the door'
Thanks in advance!

The dish will be transmitting in a beam so you may not need to restrict access to the whole roof; it will depend on the angle and direction of the dish relative to the roof and how much the beam diverges. If the dish is transmitting to a geostationary satellite, the restricted area will be fixed in position so any monitoring to determine the restricted area should only have to be done once.

Thanks Paul, Bill.
That's a great help. Paul - unfortunately I think we'll still have to lock off the roof as you need to cross the path of the beam as you step out the door.
