I have just discovered that my children's school is using a 92 seater double decker bus on the route that my children travel on.
Does anyone have any safety information on this size of bus or know where I can get hold of a risk assessment. It leaves me feeling very uneasy and worried. Last year a smaller double decker was involved in a roll over accident injuring quite a few of the children.
Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Ask the headmaster of the school for the assessment that they should have done as part of their tendering process for school transport provision.
If they haven't got one through the school or bus company, start asking questions of the school governors.

I imagine that the bus you are referring to is an Olympian. This bus has 3 axles (triaxle) because of the extra weight. I think you will also find it will have seat belts provided and where provided they must be used.
Drivers obviously have a PCV licence and are trained further in garage when they arrive. Specific route risk assessments may have been completed by the companies health and safety department but I would approach the school for these.

It may be that the contract is let centrally from the Local Authority and therefore the school may not have sirect knowledge. You may wish to ask the question of the LA (along with how they select contractors)
