Posted By Dave Joyce Have an emergency can anyone help I have a client who has a client who has been let down seriously by a training provider. The requirement is a training course for CDM for project managers who will be interacting with designers and Principal contractors involved in the installation process of projects that they will be managing, thus effectively acting as the client. They need a bit more than just a basic appreciation, but it is refresher training and not just starting from scratch. The real problem is that the projects start at the end of next week and the course was booked for Monday 26th but there is a possibility of accepting another day next week as an alternative. Don't feel competent myself so if anyone is available or knows a provider close to Milton Keynes, please email soonest

Posted By Glyn Atkinson I hope that the advertising part of this thread will be taken in the manner of helping fellow professionals in an hour of need, not as blatant free advertising ? I suppose on a technicality, all replies could have gone off forum through e mail? It is good to know , however, that companies do read the site and are willing to help at short notice if required, and therefore worthy of a mention. Thoughts?

Posted By TBC If any company can respond at short notice and deliver - Great. If they do a good job let's hear about it. If they don't perform - let's also hear about it. This way we can put to good use the limited resources (money) we have on training etc. Free advertising and recommendation on here - why not?

Posted By Dave Joyce A big thank you to all who sent emails offering help with this problem. The training has now been arranged. It is reassuring to know that fellow professionals take the time not only to offer the training themselves but recommend people who may be able to help. Thank you all.

Posted By Polyfield Services The response by Polyfield Services to Dave Joyce's enquiry regarding CDM was intended to offer a possible solution to his problem. If this well-intentioned response is considered by some as an attempt to obtain free advertising then that is regrettable. Graham Knight Consultant/Trainer

Posted By Thomas Kennedy The last response sounds like an apology which a request for help should not be. We'll all sitting with a copy of SHP in front of us with over a 100 trainers adverts. Perhaps Glynn Atkinson has the time to phone them all - others don't. And it's difficult to email someone privately if the person's address is not displayed.
