Hi Folks,

Still getting my paper together about in-house provision of training. How much does it cost to run an accredited First Aid course? That is, fees for course registration, cost of training materials and cost of certification. I'm not asking for somebody to put courses on, so don't need cost of trainer or venue, just those costs payable to the accreditation body. For example, I know that for IOSH WS its about £20 for the course, c £20 per workbook and about the same for the cert; I have no idea what the costs are for 1st Aid as I've never delivered it. Any assistance gratefully recieved,

John

I believe you mean the HSE approved course, in which case you will need to contact them directly. They have contracted this function out but they can give you all the info required to become a registered centre.

For doing in-house first aid training (appointed persons) you do need to ensure that you include the appropriate training as set out in the First Aid Regs. This should be recorded, who, what, where, how, program, etc.

When you get the HSE stuff you will be in a better situation to determine what you want to do. It can be cheaper in the long run to use already accredited centres.
