We are looking to combine our Health & Safety management system with our Environmental MS. Can anyone point me in the right direction in how to do this by ticking all boxes. How to set out the index pages etc.
Thanks Tip

Good idea; but be careful as its very easy to have a non-compliance [usually H&S] in one area that will affect both
Its interesting that combining environmental QA systems with production QA systems apppears to work quite well. However adding in H&S to either area can cause problems [Personal experience]

The common approach that some practitioners use is to follow the guidelines specified within ISO 9000 (QA) series of standards, also review both ISO 14001 (Env) & OHSAS 18001 (H&S) these standards will have sections showing how these link into ISO 9000.
It is very easy to integrate all three systems once you understand the concept that a number of key clauses are included within all standards ie Doc Control, Records, Internal Audits, Management Review, etc, etc
There is no harm in making sure these key documents refer to QA, Env, H&S operations within the same document - saves duplication of procedures.
Once you have the key documents compiled and out of the way, look at then filling the remainder of clauses of ALL standards, ie Register of Env Impacts (ISO 14001 only), Legal & Other Requirements (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001), and so on - I am sure you will get the drift.
This works for me - attained integrated systems for previous employers.
It also works if you want to include and integrate other management systems ie BS 7799 (IT/Security) and ISO 22000 (Food)

Hi, My colleague and I achieved BSI accreditation for a completely integrated management system with my previous employer. 14001 and 18001 are practically identical as far as requirements go and you can fit the 9001 around them. At the back of the ISO standards there are tables which show you the correspondance between the standards , if you follow this you cann't go far wrong.
