Posted By Melanie Black Hi All, I am about to tackle an assignement for my NEBOSH diploma course, which is based around stress risk assessment. I haven't carried out a stress risk assessment before and was wondering if any body has a pro-forma or sample questionnaire that they have used that I could have a look at? I don't mean completed ones, just blank forms with questions. I have seen the stress indicator tool on the HSE website and am considering using that, but I was just wondering if anybody has anything different. Also, has anybody had experience of impelemnting a stress management strategy? What practical measures have people used to help reduce stress in the workplace? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks, Mel

Posted By Breezy Mel, It gets you like that! Then you move onto a stage of denial. After that you go through a period of thinking, there must be a better way of doing an assessment and even collect examples. Then you realise that the HSE tool really is the best of the lot in spite of all it's manifold flaws and the fact that their sample of responses (which you are measured against) were form some of the most unfeasably happy, optimistic and unstressed people in the world and that your organisation will never compare. Finally, you give up and cease caring yourself! Jon P.S. I've mailed you a copy of our initial assessment.

Posted By Graeme Have a look at the HSE stress management standards.... Plenty of great examples in there of approaches taken to reduce stress in the workplace using each standard.. ie; Demands Control Change Role Relationship Support http://www.hse.gov.uk/st.../standards/standards.htm

Posted By Melanie Black Thank you to everybody who has replied on the forum and via email, I have got some great info to help me with the assignment. Richie, did you do the assignment for the NEBOSH Diploma?? I haven't received your email yet. Could I be cheeky and ask you to send it again - our email can be a bit temperamental with attachments! Thanks again to everybody for all the help, it is greatly appreciated. Mel
