Hi - a friend is a home carer and is having trouble with a fellow worker. The fellow worker is leaving notes on a note pad in the clients home stating that fellow carers are not washing clients or cleaning after clients ie housework. It is getting to the stage that my friend is scared to go to clients if this other person is following behind her.( the client suffers from dimensia)
The complaints are being written on a notepad at the clients house for others to read and not being made to the office. Neither on company complaint forms. Supervision do not seem to do anything about this despite my friend complaining to her supervisor.
Your advice is appreciated.

Hi ddlhood, you need to be persistant with this one, or at least your friend does. Keep a diary of your actions, keep the notes, record what was said, when and to whom.
CSCI would not be impressed at this behaviour from professional carers, there are standards that need to be adhered to with regards to keeping records...
Good luck with this.
Regards

Thank you for that saracen - my friend is very angry that this situation is being allowed to continue.I did suggest that this could be seen as bullying and that the employer has a legal duty to stop this.

Hi ddhood,
This is one that needs a different kind of professional. I know some postees don't particularly like Trades Union Offficers but this is a situation where one would be really helpful. The main unions representing members in the Care Sector are T&S and UNISON.

Sorry - bit of fumble finger there - should have read T&G and UNISON.

Thank you Gilly - my wife thinks that the woman is in the trade union. I never thought of that option. Thanks again
