I have been given the task of developing a disaster recovery plan, Im not sure what that has to do with H&S but it looks like the job has been dumped on my desk. I have been looking on the internet but have not found anything of use so far. does anyone out there have any ideas where I can make a start
thanks shaz

Sharon,
It's more about limiting Business Risk than strict H&S, but that said, you can no doubt provide valid input.
First stop, download the IOSH Guidance from:
http://www.iosh.co.uk/fi...nessRiskManagement%2Epdf
Then, contact your company Accountant and speak to your Insurers, they should also be able to help.
Try to focus on what to do if key personnel are unavailable, or a premises is lost (rather than how that loss could occur - that way lies insanity!).
I sound like I actually know somthing here - but I don't.
No doubt somone who has been through the process will respond shortly.

This is like opening pandora's box as there are so many ends. Email me and we can hook up for a talk.

I suggest that you contact your property insurance company or broker -- they usually have templates or guidance that covers the essentials of such planning and takes it further to cover business recovery after the event
These are usually a freebie in most cases
