Does anyone have any experience of running these? Anything I should be looking out for? And what does SPA training cover?
Thanks in advance

Mel,
The MLTB/BMC SPA award doesn't cover zip wires, flying foxes, or speed lines. The only reason i have anything to do with speed lines is in an arboricultural context for the dismantling of trees.
To try and help, you might want to try and speak to your local army careers office or local TA? Try your local mountain rescue centre or NARC (National Access Rescue Centre) in Cumbria. The Scout Association have a series of fact sheets covering set up and use (very basic). Maybe try Go Ape? I have spoken to them before in regard to other "aerial issues" and found them very helpful.

HSE is doing some work on zip wires, at the request of a local authority. The contact is Graham Bell on 0151 951 3705.
