Posted By JayJay Hi Dave ! Not got an answer for you as such, but you could try the CITB and they will send you a list of instructors for your area and what they specialise in. Hope this helps. JJ

Posted By Ian Mitchell Hiya Dave. If you want an in-house cert that won't take as long as the CITB route you could enrol them on a one-day course with Plantmasters who come to site at a very reasonable cost. They validate, give a certificate, and ensure the H+S aspect of this safety-critical role is drilled home. Their number is 0845 166 2363 (not advertising as I am unconnected to the business!). Ask for a guy called Tony who did this same course for us in Manchester last week!

Posted By Paul Oliver Also try any of your local crane hire companies. e.g. Ainscough, Mammoet, etc. They all have training schools. I think Ainscoughs is in the North West.

Posted By Lee Smyth Due to the number of trained and untrained banksmen that are injured or worse each year it might be worth considering training people as "pedestrian marshals" instead (assuming it people rather than plant/buildings that you're trying to protect).

Posted By Steve Cartwright Hi Dave If its just for reversing vehicles, simple traffic management you can get information from the HSE website. Just get employees to sign as proof that they have understood. Will save you a packet. Steve
