Posted By Rochelle Cartmell Hi Can anyone recommend an Occupational Health Company that would be able to provide health screening to persons who undertake work in confined spaces. The work the men carry out is in a barge yard and they are in a confined space when they fit the final plate on the barge. As some of them are 'senior' workers I am pushing the company to provide screening to ensure they are fit and are capable to carry out the work in this environment. Especally as there is welding, paint spraying tasks that are carried out once the hold is a confined space. We have the air fed masks, air change every 30 seconds and have carried out a risk assessment on the task. Thank you

Posted By Michael Nixon Why not try Rochdale Occupational Health Services www.rohs.co.uk If they cannot help directly it is likely they will know someone who can through an association of OH service providers.

Posted By Scott d Hi Rochelle, I recently had a couple of visits from an organisation called Workplace Health Connect who are working with the HSE to provide free advice on issues such regarding Occupational Health. They will make an assessment of your needs and recommend any services you may require. I found this extremely helpful and they are able to recommend local organisations who can provide further services. You can contact them through a link on the right hand side of the HSE homepage.
