Have first interview for health and safety assistant position.
Require to prepare a fictious report on a small sports club with shower and changing facilities and also a sauna and identify the relevant health and safety checks to be carried out regarding areas such as disinfecting water supplies/tanks and if legionella risk assessment is required, cleaning requirement of shower areas and general hygiene requirements.
Can anyone help with info sources on the above.
Thanks in advance

Scott
please accept first that I am not trying to be nasty or one-up or whatever.
It is just that I feel that if you are going for that sort of job then you should be already capable of answering that sort of question
Either you already know it or you have spent time and effort between then and now on researching the subject.
I am sure that there are readers of this site who have all the answers you need. But they will be second hand. And you will have big problems presenting other peoples ideas as your own. (unless you are a good actor who can learn his lines and present them with feeling)(every interview is theater)
I would very stongly recommend that you do your own research and develop your own presentation. That way you will OWN it rather than have borrowed it.
Sorry if I come across as critical but please accept that this advice is offered from one professional to another.
And the best of luck. (do let us know when you get the job)
Merv (still waiting for me dinner)

Merv,
I note from Scott's initial posting that he was requesting information sites and not asking for direct answers to his interview 'question'. This suggests to me that he does intend to research the subject and demonstrates he recognises his limits of knowledge on this particular subject. A worthy trait in a H & S professional, I'm sure you agree.
I appreciate your remarks are well intended but I feel they were a bit harsh particularly as Scott is applying for an 'assistants' post and may well be fairly new to the 'H & S industry'.
We all use the forum at one point or another for advice from fellow professionals when clearly a little research would provide us with the answers we need but surely the forum is a resource we use when doing such research and if the advice provided save us 2 or 3 hours 'googling' then so much the better.

hi Scott,
When I first started in safety back in 93 (alright I know it's probably whilst you were at school) I was a Safety officer for a local authority and one of my duties was to look after the safety of a couple of sports centres. I suggest that you could ask your local authority for any RA's or general guidance. Some LA's seperate departments (safetywise) though so make sure you speak to the right one.
Good luck
Rob
