Yes, a fit test is required under COSHH for dust masks. See the HSE web site
for some good info

if it is being used to control exposure and ensure levels below the exposure limits - yes
if it is being used to reduce nusiance dust or odour and not control any hazardous chemicals/dusts to below the exposure limits - no
