Posted By Ian H Dear all I am currently writing a paper entitled ‘Managing Behaviour in a Disparate Supply Chain’. If you would like to be interviewed and receive a copy of the synopsis, please let me know via the email link. The paper should be featured as an article in the Safety & Health Practitioner this year. Would you be happy to take a call with me to ask questions about? How behavioural safety is used on your organisation; How successful the approaches have been; What pro’s and con’s do you see in applying behavioural safety in the construction or other industries. The paper looks specifically at the construction industry and examines a balanced approach between traditional risk management and behavioural safety, and the merits of a more integrated methodology. Contacts and references to approaches used with prior clients and examples such as Heathrow T5; references to experts such as J Reason and the wider context of organisational risk, and how this should not be lost by just focusing on behaviour. It will also refer to other studies and information sources such as the HSE, IOSH, ODA safety standards etc. It will provide some ideas and practical approaches to the issues, rather than just a theoretical proposition. This is an opportunity for people to voice their views. It provides opportunity for cross-industry learning and refining of the most successful approaches, to apply to supply chain management as a whole and not just major projects. Kind regards Ian
