Good Afernoon,
I have been tasked with resurecting our H & S Committee/Meetings. I have a list of names of volunteers who wish to be members of this committee but require some help - I have requested they all attend a meeting on Friday.
I would like to be able to issue the following at the meeting:
1. Purpose/Aims/Objectives of the committee
2. Expectations of members
3. Rules etc.
But as I have no experience of H & S I don't know where to start. Can anyone please advise me?? Also am I forgetting anything important?
Many thanks,
Michelle

Go to the HSE website and search on health and safety committee. It will give you all the information you need.
thats how I started my committee - Jean

Michelle,
I chair our company's Safety Committee Meetings, however as H&S Manager it is a comfortable enough task for me. You have mentioned that you have little experience in terms of H&S. I suggest that you enquire about carrying out some kind of basic H&S trianing. Your understanding will improve with each meeting and along with some basic knowledge i am sure the Committee can be a successfull tool!.
David.

If you would like to contact me direct, can let you have some info that you may find useful. Also agree with what has been said by both Jean and David above.

Many thanks.
I have printed loads of info from the HSE website which will make for interesting reading on my train journey home.
At the moment my position is possibly facing redundancy, however if I manage to 'survive' I intend to request Nebosh training as I am very interested in H & S.
Thanks again
Michelle
