If you input the exposure level against exposure time the HSE website has a calculator which will tell you if you are above the exposure limit

Not sure of the term 'pokering', but work such as scabbling of wet concrete is considered to have a significant risk, as would any work with drills or impact tools on the hardened stuff. All time dependent of course.

Hi Joanne,

Yes pokering concrete would have a significant risk of vibration not only to the fingers but hand arm.
You will find the risk increases significantly when the poker comes in contact with a solid surface.

I met a carpenter who was one of the pokering experts so he always did that task in years gone by. Now his sleep is ruined by the pain every night.

Using the HSE calculator you would need to enter two figures, levels not inserted into concrete and levels when inserted. To get the levels of vibration would need information from manufacturer and possible those measured by a competent person.

Vibration levels will vary from the density of concrete vibrated to compact it. (stiff mix or wetmix), not to techy the last...
