Posted By Richard Spencer Can anyone please advise me of the things to be mindful of when working in this location? Please advise of the risks one takes if accompanied by partner? Accomodation costs, cost of living, transport e.g. hire of car. Thanks Richard

Posted By Paul Adams You would normally expect accomodation, car, air fares for leave to all be included as part of the deal. The Emirates are relatively liberal for that part of the world, however, you used the word "parnter" which suggests that you and your significant other are not married. I may be wrong, having worked in neighbouring kingdoms which are a bit stricter, but I believe you must be married in order for your partner to get a resident visa and cohabiting outside marriage is illegal. Healthcare etc is all private and the employer is expected to have all the relevant insurances in place for their employees so that foriegners do not become a burden on the state. Hope that helps a bit. Paul

Posted By GT Accommodation costs are escalating and therefore ensure that you have any rentals index linked, and there is generally a one year in advance payment that has to be considered. gt
