Can anybody point me in the direction of a company that provides electrical or preferrably mechanical security devices for doors (to be used in a community care setting) that will secure the door but allow easy, quick egress in the event of a fire?

The premises in question is located in Yorkshire.

In view of the urgency, I would be grateful if you could contact me directly on either: 07765 405235 or at djupnorth@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi DJ,

Chubb and others supply magentic keepers for locks, which will swing freely when the current is cut. This allows an ordinary lock to be used on the exit door, with a magnetic keeper set to release when the fire alarm sounds or (of course) when power fails,
