Posted By DJ Can anybody point me in the direction of a company that provides electrical or preferrably mechanical security devices for doors (to be used in a community care setting) that will secure the door but allow easy, quick egress in the event of a fire? Hi DJ,
Chubb and others supply magentic keepers for locks, which will swing freely when the current is cut. This allows an ordinary lock to be used on the exit door, with a magnetic keeper set to release when the fire alarm sounds or (of course) when power fails,
