Posted By Terry Reading Hi all I am currently just finishing an audit today in Denmark and wanted to ask if any experts out there can tell me if I am hearing a line of B.S. I am told that local law does not require them to have any form of regular fire drill and also that there is no requirement for the testing of emergency lighting? It is an office environment only and generally tidy and has all the fire alarm, etc. in place. And before anyone says it, yes I have had the discussion about the Company wants this done anyway to ensure a reasonable minimum standard, so I will get this introduced. However, I wanted to know if the local HR and FM person was right or trying to sell me a line? Also - if anyone knows much about Norway safety law are they as laid back? Would like to know as am there tomorrow. Cheers in advance. T.

Posted By Manny Terry, not an answer to your question but why choose Denamrk if you are not up to speed on their Health and Safety Legislation? Hopefully someone out there can be of assistance. Good luck. Manny

Posted By anon1234 Manny, Not sure anyone has suggested that Norway and Denmark are the same country. Terry, sorry can't offer any advice on the legislation but good to see that you have agreement to adopting appropriate standards - as a rule I try to avoid quoting legislation but prefer to adopt the best practice / sensible risk management approach and argue the case on the benefits - all the best though in finding an answer ont he legislation point as clearly you need to understand what is the absolute legal minimum standard
