Excuse the abbreviations in the subject heading ... but you know what I mean.
Being a bit sad I sometimes look at the agenda and minutes for the HSC meetings accessible via the HSE website.
Paper Misc 23 (with appendices a and b) tabled at the 5th September meeting took me a bit by surprise. Did anyone else know of the on-going case in the European Court of Justice against the UK? Have I been asleep for the last year and missed this... was there an article in SHP?
If the UK loses this case it will mean the most significant change in health and safety legislation since 1974 and will make Lord Robens turn in his grave.

IF the UK Government does lose this case will the UK have to strive to reach the H&S standards of other member states e.g. Spain &Greece.
