All,

Does anyone know of any training (either external companies or train the trainer) courses that are specific to Legionnaires disease. I currently work the the Utilities Industry (clean and dirty water) and have been asked if such a course exists.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Best regards

Seth

I recently received a flyer from a company called Pivotal for a legionella awareness. Can't vouch for it, but might be worth browsing/contact via www.pivotal-training.com
i have no connections with that organisation. Similar courses are no doubt available from others!

There is one on Page 72 of the IOSH Professional Development courses. You can get this by searching 'training and courses' on the left hand side of this page.

There are a number of courses run by Develop on Water Systems, including Legionellosis Prevention and Control. Have a look at Develops website (www.develop-solutions.co.uk) which will show all the course and should give a contact name and number to discuss you requirements.

I attended a one day course Legionella Technician Training Course with Nemco Utilities, as I knew very little about this subject it was an eye opener. They will also work in partnership with you to produce listings of sentinel points where testing should take place, and areas where flushing of pipes should be done as well.

They are members of the code of conduct association which apparently means their training is of a good and consistant standard.
