Posted By john a hall we have trailers with shackles and chains used for tie down purposes only. does this equipment have to be marked to indicate that it is not to be used for lifting. does it need a wll on the shackles and chains. what is the period of inspection under puwer.

Posted By RP Could they be mistaken for lifting gear? if so it may be good practice to mark them accordingly. Under PUWER they would be checked frequently dependant on use, and by the users before and after use.
